There is no dust jacket as released by the publisher. The book is bound in blue-green leather, with gold accents and gilded page edges. The boards are straight and square with no visible wear. The Smyth-sewn binding is still very solid, and the pages are clean and crisp, without creases, marks or tears. The only visible sign of wear are just the slightest hints of scratches on the gilded page edges. Published by Easton Press in 1993 as part of their Masterpieces of Science Fiction Collection, this is the Easton Press, Leather-bound Hardcover Edition of Hyperion , the first book in Dan Simmons' landmark science fiction series. It is bound in geniune blue-green leather, with 22kt gold accents, gilded page edges, a satin ribbon marker, fabric end-sheets, and a Smyth-sewn binding. It also includes a number of full-color illustrations by Byron Taylor and an introduction written especially for the edition by Gary Westfahl. Additional it still has the original "Collector's Notes" insert and an unused personal bookplate. With any hardcover edition of Hyperion hard to find, this makes for a Superb Collectible for fans of Science Fiction Literature and Dan Simmons!
