The added slipcase has some gentle bumping the edges but shows little other visible wear. The dust jacket shows minor creasing and wear along the edges and corners and has a new archival-quality Mylar Protector.

The boards are straight and square, with light shelf-wear on the bottom edges and some gentle bumping on the corners. The binding is still solid and the top page block shows a few faint dust spots. Otherwise the pages are still clean and crisp, without creases, marks or tears.

First published in 1996, this is the Hardcover 1st Edition, 1st Printing of A Game of Thrones. This 1st edition fits perfectly into a matching slipcase foil-stamped with the "Iron Throne" iconography that was originally released as part of the deluxe edition.
