Thank you for taking a look at the Dune First Edition, First Print listing! To start, this is the first edition and first print of both the book itself and the dust jacket.

Proof of the first printing of the dust jacket is the dark line under "Chilton Books". However, there is some damage to the book which is why the price has been so heavily discounted. The damage is as follows. The most noticeable element is the boards which have been completely replaced. However, the book has been professionally rebacked with the company name listed on the back cover of the book.

The boards are similar to the original blue but they are not original. This is an ex-library book and there are two stickers - one on front and one in the rear - with the library markings. There is also a library stamp on the bottom of the book. However, it's in good condition considering it's an ex-library book and I've taken a picture of the pages.

As you can see, they are white and crisp with no sign of fading or yellowing. There is a semi-transparent tape on one page, likely original to the library, but the book binding is strong and the book stands on its own as pictured. The price is heavily discounted as a result of the damage above and, for comparison, there have been two recent sales of Dune.

Since this first edition, first print book is in great shape other than the boards, the price is discounted enough to make it a significant bargain.
