Robert Jordan 1990 Eye Of The World. Wheel Of Time #1 Hardcover With Dust Jacket. Both the book and hardcover are in Fine as new condition. One of The finest Ive owned. Clean boards and pages, sharp unbumped tips, nice square and tight binding. This copy is Signed and inscribed by the author on the full title page. As you may be aware when the Eye of the World was first published by Tor in early 1990 a very limited number of hardcover copies were printed. Approximately 2,000 along with a much larger number of large trade paperbacks.

Apparently a good number of these 2000 hardcovers ended up in libraries with maybe 1000? The exact numbers are a little murky but suffice to say very few 1st/1st hardcovers ended up for sale at retail outlets.

These are known as 2nd state first edition copies. Both hardcover versions are identical save for the page block binding. Some months ago I began to wonder about 2nd Printing copies. Ive owned a couple 1st printings along with a good number of 3rd, 4th, 5th and so on Printings. Ive consulted with a number of fellow collectors and sellers of Wheel of Time collectible books.

Ive been unable to find any evidence of a 2nd printing to exist. For reasons I can only ponder about It appears that 3rd printings such as the copy for sale here are actually the 2nd hardcover printing of Eye of the World! If anyone has additional information or corrective input please let me know! You book will be professionally padded and boxed so as to arrive as seen in pictures.
