Fading and chips to spine & light foxing throughout. One neat signature and 1890 date on inside blank page.The boards have some moisture spots. The chip on the spine (Upper right corner) appears to have been repaired and set back on. We don't do any work on the books, so we let the pics speak for themselves. My old eyes aren't what they used to be, and I can't tell if the chip has been afixed back, but it's stable. In any case the spine is fragile.
Internally the work has no writing and is in good condition. Publisher's catalog in back of book. Gilt all pages edges and burgundy end papers. Most copies of this 1st printing have been rebound. The covers here are original.
