LE GUIN - The Left Hand of Darkness. Light spotting and very minor signs of use within book. Winner of both the Hugo and Nebula awards.

An important novel and a highlight of modern literature. Ranked as the second greatest work of Sci-Fi by Locus, after Herbert's Dune. Before rebinding, this book had been read carefully. A few pages have minor marks showing this, with some very gentle marks to the block and some small minor marks to a minority of pages with the book. Most pages are crisp and clean. In a plastic protective cover. The book is housed in a custom-built slipcase featuring rare antique marbled paper displaying as close as I could get to a Sci-Fi theme. The antique vellum used for the spine is contrasted with an extremely modern near-holographic material that is used for the title blocking on the spine. This is likely the only book in existence featuring this material - sourced from the Bank of England, it is the same material used for the holographic security printing on bank notes. The contrast in antique and ultra modern materials hopefully goes some way to reflect a theme running throughout the book.

This is a one-of-a-kind book - I will not be binding another. I prefer to remain low key but I have bound books for very eminent people across a range of spheres.
